On 28th December was a very busy day in Tana Delta region. It
was a nomination day to choose an aspirant for the garsen constituency. We had
two aspirants for the nomination, that is Maurice Dullu and Ben Matheka. The
nominations went well as expected. Voter turnout was around 50%-60%. The voting
exercise was peaceful and encouraging. By the end of the day, Maurice Dullu
emerged the winner.

The IEBC registered 79,641 voters in Tana River county for the March 4th 2013 general election. The breakdown of the registered voters by constituency and county assembly ward is;
Garsen constituency - 31,684
86. Kipini East - 4,661
87. Garsen South - 6,458
88. Kipini West - 4,536
89. Garsen Central - 3,826
90. Garsen West - 5,866
91. Garsen North - 6,337
Galole constituency - 21,827
92. Kinakomba - 4,702
93. Mikinduni - 3,934
94. Chewani - 8,618
95. Wayu - 4,573
Bura constituency - 26,130
96. Chewele - 5,428
97. Hirimani - 7,206
98. Bangale - 6,031
99. Sala - 2,705
100. Madogo - 4,760
[UPDATE] As of Dec 2015, there is a population of 46,156 who have ID but have not registered as voters. We expect people are registering to vote and not making noises on social media.
We expect by 2017 there will be more registered voters. So we are urging all eligible voters to go and confirm their voting status because there is a huge campaign battle coming up soon. Pokomo united, these statistics shows we can easily secure all position, we only need unity.
