Tana Delta In Turmoil Again, Sikuye Sikuye

On 28th December was a very busy day in Tana Delta region. It was a nomination day to choose an aspirant for the garsen constituency. We had two aspirants for the nomination, that is Maurice Dullu and Ben Matheka. The nominations went well as expected. Voter turnout was around 50%-60%. The voting exercise was peaceful and encouraging. By the end of the day, Maurice Dullu emerged the winner.
Ben Matheka accepted the results with an acceptance speech at BoH. Everything went well as planned, and we now have an aspirant who will fight the famous SANE.

The narrative above is not accepted by everyone. There are people who feel the whole process was planned since day one. They feel the exercise was in favour of one party than the other. They feel we still dont have an aspirant yet, and a sense of losing again in 2017 is inevitable. So what might be the problem? I did a quick analysis of the information i gathered and is as follows.

On December 18th, there was a public meeting held in Kinyadu. It was a gasa/proffesional meeting from Tana Delta region whos main aim was to liberate all pending issues that were affecting the Delta region. All gasa attended the Kinyadu meeting except 3 gasas. That is Ngao, Shirikisho, and Oda. The fate of the meeting was to disband the Alex gasa and appoint a new one. Paul Siri was unanimously selected as the new Tana Delta chairperson. The meeting was successful and it was done.

Days later, Alex Mumwina, together with his crew conducted a private meeting at BoH. Since it was private, it was hard to understand the motive of the meeting but it seems one of the agenda was to conduct a nomination exercise in the Delta region (the 28th one). The meeting was succesfully as planned.

Now after the 28th nomination, things are now exposing themselves. The Kinyadu meeting oversaw what will transpire, thats why they moved one step ahead to block Alex as the Delta chair long ago.

The nomination was manned with controversies, starting from voters casting votes with no Ids to influencing of voters. In short the voting was biased. The voting exercise was not conducted in all Tana Delta location. Most of the pokomo were never informed about the voting, they were isolated. According to data i collected, the following are the places that partcipated.

Oda
Kulesa
Ngao
Hewani
Dumi
Shirikisho
Itsowe
Wema
Kibusu
Garsen
Maua
Tarasaa
Golbanti

The above data translates to the 3 isolated gasa location Aligned to Alex. They have purposely chose to go head on collition to the 2017 ballot without confronting other regions which has pokomo votes. The 3 locations feel they dont need the ‘other’ locations in order to win the Garsen MP seat. To my honest opinion i think they have decided to isolate themselves from reality. I have my reasons. First the 3 location should by now be aware that that they have nominated Maurice Dullu as an MP aspirant, but he will never reach the promised land. This is because 3,815 votes can never elect an MP in Garsen constituency. Some people may reason that its only afew people who participated in the nomination. Well, like i said earlier the voter turn out was around 50%-60%. Lets put that turn out to 100%. The total votes will be 3,815x2=7,630. That is far behind from 2013 Hon. Sane victory of 9,271 votes. How will they win the 2017 elections? Are we really serious on this issue? Who are these people behind this whole issue? Are they really pokomos? To me i feel NIT Mafias are fully working day in, day out to make Tana River lose again. If we Pokomo United never stand up and oversee whats coming, then we are just sitting ducks waiting for suprises.

Tana Delta is much bigger that 3 locations. We have Baomo, Mnazini, Mkameni, Benderani, Sera, Handaraku, Kurawa, Semikaro, Kikomo, Chamwanamuma, Kilelengwani, Ozi, Kipini, Matangeni, Kau etc. All these locations were left behind from the 28th nomination. Are these pokomos or something? Are they not voters? What do you expect from them? If people start to raise issues about this you’ll hear people calling others propagandist, hater, spoiler etc forgetting they are the main cause of it.

The other aspirants feel cheated. They have not concided any defeat. And what am seeing is a repeat of 2013 elections. More pokomo will vie for  the seat and we shall lose.

Ben Matheka:
1.The candidates were sapozd to be 2 instead they put 3.
Ben,Mourice,Juma gafo.
It was to b 2
This was to confuse specific pple.
2.Most of my Agents from the poling stations of Salama were driven out to facilitate mourice guys to rig through village  gasa chairman. Eg Wema
Hewani  they  sent police cruiser n chased our voters
Wema and Hewani they opened the stations without our Agents.
Voter briber at wema. Personally  i witnessed.
Mourice  as a candidate was not sapozd to ferry voting materials.
4.most of my strong holds didnt vote.
I. E
Dalu
Nduru
Semikaro
Chamwanamuma
Mbelezoni
Anasa
Shirikisho
No reason provided why pple didnt vote
4.they added a station that was not agreed upon.
5.voting materials were agreed to be purchased. New ones. They used old ones at all salama stations.
6.istowe agent (chele)  was directing the pple on whom to vote for. My agents were chased away. Hence he didnt sign the form. Doyo witness the incident
7.Tarasaa station the Gasa rep was asking and telling the voters whom to vote.
8.salama were told they are not voting but around 2pm they started voting Secrectly .my arrival at wema station i saw mourice dullu and so called Boss coming out of the station. Where i was told by my agent they filled the forms n rigged.

9.the chief and the ngao location gasa decampained  against me at Tarasaa on a public baraza. Where they are sapozd to be the refferees.

This is how the voting was done. I hereby condem and say the nominations were full of malpractices, not transparent, not fare.
Having 7 polling stations not voting the nominations are not VALID.
The declaration form i failed to sign bcoz of the complains above.
My pple i want to put it clear. The gasa is sapozd to stand for the pokomo UNITY
But few greedy wazee are driving us wrong directin.
Since i raised my concerns and they refused to listen. I hereby announce tuko debe.
Lets see who holds the heart of pple.3 gasa wazee cant dictate our future.we are better strong. Tuko pamoja.
I take tgis opportunity  to thank everyone who sapoted and voted for me. God bless us all.
Dullu was  not Validly chosen........

I think the Pokomo United by now have known those who are dividing the pokomos. While pokomo are busy building, others are destroying. If we continue like this then lets expect Hon. Sane to be back in 2017. Who cares anymore!? He is a Jubilee, he has good track record, he has never hated pokomos, and he is coming.
